Looks like Vancouver and the provincial government are bringing the great outdoors to an urban setting as there are rumours of an urban zip line in the street of downtown Vancouver during the 2010 winter Olympics. How cool is that!
Best of all it will be free. At least this is what we are hearing right now. No doubt there will be long line-ups for this. Perhaps charging a $1 per ride would be more ideal, hmmm...
A zip line is being planned to come through Robson Square in the heart of downtown. It will start at Hornby Street and swoop to the corner of Robson and Howe Streets, landing near a Chapter's book store. There will be two lines zipping side-by-side.
The province of British Columbia won't confirm the plans, but Zip Trick Eco-Tours confirms that they have been asked to build it.source: CTV

Hmmm perhaps this Olympic idea isn't bad after all.
They run tours in whistler. http://www.ziptrek.com/
I can't wait for the zip line. I am always on the look out for fun events in Vancouver. I notice that your readers are too.
Will you take a moment to help me. I blog for the JCC Sports Dinner. Our Live and silent auctions contribute to funding programs and services at a Vancouver Community Centre. Our deadline for donations is only one month away.
Will you help spread the word by blogging about us? All the content you need is at the JCC Sports Dinner-Blog Kit link to it http://bit.ly/i4MkT

Hey! Maybe we can zip away the homeless from the streets of the Olympic City?
I think that's pretty neat actually! What a great way to see the city. Wish they didn't make it free though, the lines will be ridiculous. Why not charge $10 and put half of it towards paying for its construction and half towards a good cause?
Would love to do a video over Vancouver this way.
