First it was the carbon tax, then the price of gas went under a dollar. Then they moved on to the Olympic Village which we talked about at ad nauseam here on the buzz. Then Carole James realized that was a municipal issue, d'oh!. Oh and the Olympics were an NDP idea to begin with. Then there were the endless sound bites about the new over budget Vancouver Convention Centre expansion, forgetting about their own political follies such as Bingogate and ahem...fast ferries. Now the NDP seem to have issue with the new BC place roof. Perhaps the NDP have forgotten what MLA Harry Bains said in 2006. Remember when he said the renovations and upgrades to the roof are a priority. I guess they flip-flopped on that one. I wonder what they'll conjure up next.
I am not a Liberal supporter, nor am I an NDP supporter. I vote for whoever I think is best to lead this province to the top and right now for me the NDP does not instill any confidence whatsoever. The only thing that comes out of the NDP politicians mouths is hate. All they do is complain about what the Liberals are doing (which is a good job by the way) and have no plan for themselves. For that very reason they have to be the stupidest bunch of politicians out there. Carole James is not a leader. She needs to go and the rest of her party is no better. Give me something other than union bullshit. Tell me you understand simple economics and finance because from what I heard coming from you guys thus far is highschool.
This May when you vote take into consideration the NDP likes to flip-flop and has no plan.
Maverick, UD I'd like to read your take on the upcoming election.

I think maybe one of you should try out for the government and then maybe things would ACTUALLY get done. ;)
Soccer community is royally pissed over this:

Can you believe the NDP actually ran ANTI-Soccer Stadium ads on Soccer fan sites? Brilliant!
Fuck the NDP and the bullshit they speak.
Carole James shouldn't be the leader of this province, but neither should Gordon Campbell.
Him and his government have done terrible things to the arts, education, and health organizations in the last 8 years.
It's too bad a more appropriate alternative to him hasn't been found yet.
@ James, agreed that although Campbell has made bad decisions, on the whole I think he is better for this province than Carole.
Gordon Campbell is guy that commands respect when amongst other premiers etc...I can't see anybody on the NDP like that. With that being said I'll be voting Liberal until the NDP (or another party) get their act straight. For me I can't vote for a union supporter.
@ Allie, I can't run as my past would most certainly kill that lol.
It's just sad to have to choose between the lesser of two evils.
Also sad to see that people in this province still believe that unions aren't important to the success of our province as a whole.
I think unions are for the most part inefficient. The wages they pay are great and I have nothing against the wage rate individuals make. Hell in this city we definitely need those kinds of wages. My hate for unions stems from the laziness of many workers. Union protectionism lets them get away with a lot. Too often I've seen people slacking on the job in a unionized environment. Nurses and healthcare workers are the exception. I have no sympathy for teachers because:
a) many just see the children as a means to collecting a paycheque (thus why they want reduced classrooms i.e. less work)
b) they make decent money for someone working 9 months a year.
Until the NDP thinks about ALL of BC's residents I can't and won't vote for them.
So, to get this straight, you are not a liberal supporter but you think that Carole James is a terrible leader, that all the NDP do is complain, and that the BC liberals are doing a good job? Haha, it’s hard to take anything you say seriously as you are clearly a Liberal partisan. Hey, it’s okay. I’m partisan too. I think that Carole James has done a great job as leader and will make a fantastic Premier after the election next month. I just choose to not hide behind a false wall of objectivity like you do.
I’m sure someone such as yourself who relies heavily on generalizations and blanket statements (such as your clearly well qualified opinion on unions, haha) has little room for facts. However, let’s get back to reality for a second here. Of course it appears that the NDP complains a lot. Looking at the terrible track record of Campbell’s Liberals it seems to be that they probably haven’t complained enough. That’s kind of what an opposition party does. They complain and offer suggestions on how they would lead differently. That’s how our system of democracy works. There’s a free grade 10 civics lesson for you. I hope it helped.
Jay's Fan, the problem with the NDP is that they complain and don't offer solutions. Case in point the whole B.C. Place roof thing. They are now back tracking. So much for your leaders hard stance eh. For the record I voted for the NDP in the 90's. My mistake and I won't do it again UNTIL I see a clear direction they want to take this province. Right now all I see is rampant socialism and a lack of fiscal prudence. Thanks for the grade 10 civic lessons, back then I was too busy chasing skirts I must have missed that class entirely.
We are in somewhat tough times due to the economic woes, however no party is at fault for that, I think most of us would agree on that. I do think that Campbell, although arrogant, has lead us along to a stronger position now that we would have been under an NDP government. Decisions made in government will never be fully popular with all, that is the nature of the beast. However BC is said to be in very good financial shape compared to the rest of Canada. We should not mess with this right now, what we need is a stable government to carry us through, and that means no change ( at least at this time ). It would be bad for us to allow the NDP to experiment with our economy at this time. What I feel we need to do is ride out this storm with the same government that has kept us in better shape than most. What we have may not be ideal for most, but it is working, perhaps left well enough alone for now.
Stick with the devil you know ?
The NDP are nothing more than a bunch of socialist bastards who have NO clue how to offer solutions because they don't have any! All they do is bitch about what the Liberals are doing, and the funny thing is that the Liberals ARE doing something! They cleaned up the NDP's mess they gave us for over 10 years!
You would have to be a complete MORON to vote for the NDP.
FUCK THE NDP!
